There are growing calls for something to be done about sport being sold at our sporting venues.

A new study by Otago University has found two thirds of food sold at sporting venues is unhealthy.

Otago University Wellington lead researcher of the study Louise Signal, says the research indicates the majority of food across all levels of sport is dominated by fast food.

"Junk food is now predominant in our lives, and we were surprised how prevalent it is in sport which is a healthy activity."
