Auckland University political scientist Lara Greaves told Mike Hosking there's evidence to suggest the country is looking at a higher voter turnout than usual.
"We've got two high profile referendums that people have opinions on, along with a strong government presence throughout Covid-19."
Greaves says there's evidence to suggest the country is looking at a higher voter turnout than usual.
But she says research shows it's important to reduce barriers that prevent individuals from voting.
