New Zealand’s unbeaten charge at the cricket World Cup continued this weekend after defeating the West Indies by five runs in a thriller.

They now top the table on 11 points.

A couple of metres were between New Zealand winning or losing with century-making hero Carlos Brathwaite caught on the long on boundary by Trent Boult off superb Jimmy Neesham death bowling in the chase for 292.

The previous Matt Henry over, the 48th, had gone for 25 as the Windies closed on an extraordinary comeback having been 245 for nine.

This result was equally remarkable, given New Zealand lost both openers for first-ball ducks in the first over.

Superlatives feel cheap describing Kane Williamson’s batting - he responded from the second ball of the match with his highest ODI score, 148 off 154 balls.

Former Black Cap joined Mike Hosking to discuss their performance, and how the other teams are working.
