Monkeypox cases may fizzle out, as they have in the past.

The virus, which is endemic in parts of Africa, has been detected in at least 14 other countries including the UK, the US, Canada and Australia.

It spreads through skin-to-skin contact, but isn't as contagious as the likes of Covid-19.
