Vaping companies have banded together to get industry consistency.
In a bid to offer a collective voice against proposed regulatory changes, a collection of vaping businesses recently banded together to form the Vaping Trade Association of New Zealand.
VTANZ wants to challenge negative sentiments surrounding vaping and are preparing to take on the government over proposed reforms.
Spokesman Jonathan Devery told Mike Yardley vape shops have been a good at self-regulating but others are more of a risk.
He says dairies and low cost shops are importing the products and selling them for just a couple of dollars.
"We need sensible regulation and controls in place to try to prevent them getting their hands on anything."
