New Zealand's playing a role in a space mission to help determine who's responsible for methane emissions globally.Â
The Government's putting $26 million into the project, in partnership with US based Environmental Defense Fund.
The methane-measuring satellite will have its mission control based here.Â
Spokesperson Jon Coifman told Mike Hosking it'll be able to track what companies and countries are responsible.Â
"To provide the public with a method of seeing whether or not companies and governments are doing their part to reduce those emission."
