The Prime Minister has dismissed the suggestion farmers have been thrown under the bus with the government's Zero Carbon Bill.
The bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050 has passed its third reading in Parliament.
Jacinda Ardern told Mike Hosking she's working with people in the agricultural sector about how it would affect them.
She says if the country doesn't start working on bringing emissions down, New Zealand exporters might be punished.
"Consumers around the world will start looking at whether or not New Zealand is sustainably producing our food."
