The signs are positive for most of the country to move out of lockdown soon.

Auckland will remain under Level Four until at least this time next week as it continues to deal with community cases of Covid-19.

Cabinet will decide whether to move the rest of the country from Level Three to Level Two, this afternoon.

Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson told Mike Hosking the signs are positive.

“We’ve had some encouraging results from those two 20 case days in a row that we saw in the weekend and so we’re looking to push forward on that.”

National leader Judith Collins says she can't see any reason why alert levels shouldn't change.

“For goodness sake, it’s what, 306 days without Covid or is it 307 days in the South Island? Of course we can do that.”
