New Zealanders are being urged to think carefully about where they go this summer, even if they're double-jabbed.
Domestic travel is expected to pick up, once Aucklanders who're fully jabbed or have tested negative, are allowed to leave the region from December 15.
Rural GP Network Chief Executive Grant Davidson says the populations of some areas will increase by up to one-thousand percent.
He told Mike Hosking some of those areas won't have the health systems to cope with a large outbreak.
“This isn’t the only Christmas in the world, plan it carefully. Go to those areas that are not red zones in terms of remote rural. If you are sick, don’t go. If you get sick, go home.”
