A group representing retirement homes admits there are areas where they can do better.
It comes after calls for the industry to clean up its act.
Associate Housing Minister Poto Williams wants the sector to offer a better complaints system, while Consumer NZ says terms aren't transparent or fair for some residents.
Retirement Village Association President Graham Wilkinson told Mike Hosking they've been working on changes for some time.
“This is just simply a progression of what we’ve been doing for the last year or so. Every week 100 Kiwis move into a retirement village so we must be doing something right, but we acknowledge we’re not perfect.”
