A New Zealand architect is working on a dream project in China.

Fred Van Brandenburg is designing a 120,000 square metre fashion complex in Shenzen.

That's a building four times the size of Te Papa.

Mr Van Brandenburg told Mike Hosking he doesn't even know the budget.

He has complete architectural control of the project, despite being hired for the job without a specific design.
