Emma Gilkison was expecting her son, but a routine scan revealed something horrific.

He was suffering from Ectopia Cordis, which meant the baby's heart was growing outside of his chest. This only happens to eight in every one million babies.

Emma has told her story in her book The Heart of Jesús Valentino, and told Mike Hosking she didn't expect to use her skills as a former journalist to write the story.

"It is a story I never imagined writing, I had never even heard of the condition before."
