Netflix is dipping its toes in the world of gaming.
The streaming giant has announced creating its own video games will be next on the agenda, and will be free as part of its subscription.
They'll primarily be meant to be played on mobile devices, and then eventually migrate to TVs.
Director of Let’s Play Live and NZ eSports Federation spokesperson Duane Mutu told Mike Yardley with 2.8 billion gamers worldwide, he is not surprised Netflix are making the move.
“If we look at the numbers, close to $56 billion in revenue out of the US last year versus movies and music at less than that so they absolutely have to be here, the real answer is going to be whether they can be successful in the gaming realm.”
