A new online service hopes to put an end to spending hours in a doctor's waiting room.

SwiftMed allows people to make appointments online and have a one-on-one consultation with a doctor via video.

Prescriptions can be sent to any pharmacy in New Zealand, or medicines can be delivered to their home.

Founder Dr Samantha Bailey believes the country is facing crisis point with an aging population - and anything to keep the pressure off of GPs is a good thing.

Dr Bailey joined Mike Hosking this morning.
