UK proposes new law allowing women to freeze eggs for 55 years

The UK is proposing a new system for women freezing their eggs that will keep them for 55 years rather than ten.  

Currently, the law bases the ten-year period on medical need and says that once those ten years are up, you must decide whether to use the egg or destroy it.  

In New Zealand, we also only have a ten-year max period so questions are being raised as to whether we should we be looking at this as well.
