The UK is proposing a new system for women freezing their eggs that will keep them for 55 years rather than ten. Â
Currently, the law bases the ten-year period on medical need and says that once those ten years are up, you must decide whether to use the egg or destroy it. Â
In New Zealand, we also only have a ten-year max period so questions are being raised as to whether we should we be looking at this as well.Â
