Crusaders review: Allegations of misconduct to be investigated

A thorough independent review is underway into allegations of misconduct levelled at several Crusaders rugby players.

A South African man has aired his disgust on social media, claiming three players exhibited homophobic behaviour at a McDonald's in Cape Town.

The players deny any wrongdoing.

A woman has also come forward, claiming a player spat beer at her and pinched her bum in a bar.

Richie Mo'unga says he can't remember the incident - he was drunk - but has apologised anyway.

NZ Rugby independent complaints manager, Steph Dyhrberg, told Mike Hosking it's her job to get to the bottom of it.

"All I have got at the moment is what is in the media, so I will be asking Canterbury for all of the information that is available, then I will be hearing from everyone involved, gathering any other evidence, CCTV footage and then I will write a report."

She said she will rely on evidence and credibility calls based on facts to make her decision.

Dyhrberg said there is no timeframe as of yet.
