TVNZ's being criticised for its huge line-up of reality shows for next year.
The broadcaster has released its programming and it's chocker with shows like My Kitchen Rules, Survivor, local versions of Project Runway, Love Island and First Dates NZ.
TV critic Regan Cunliffe said the target demographic of shows like Love Island is a younger audience.
But he said told Mike Hosking they're watching Netflix, Amazon, You Tube and Facebook Live.
"It just seems to me that they are spending money on something that is kind of antiquated, I mean I guess that stems from the fact that the executive aren't from a newer generation, they've been there for a long time."
Regan Cunliffe said they tend to be doing the same thing again and again and pursuing the same result.
