A Canterbury mayor says the Government has failed to convince the country about the benefits of its Three Waters reform.
It's due to make an announcement this morning, on the next steps in its plan to merge freshwater, stormwater and wastewater services into four new water entities.
Newly released documents show the Government the speed of the changes would create uncertainty.
Waimate Mayor Craig Rowley told Mike Hosking most mayors oppose the reforms -- for two main reasons.
He says one reason is that they’re taking assets off them.
And the second: “It’s a really convoluted management system they’re trying to put in place.”
