There is anger from Christchurch residents over allegations of inappropriate behaviour from a city councillor.
Christchurch's mayor banned a councillor from events where young people were present, because of complaints about his conduct.
The councillor is accused of sending sexually explicit messages to teenagers.
Acting council chief executive Mary Richardson received a formal, written complaint earlier this month. and met with the complainants' representative last week.
Newstalk ZB Christchurch mornings host Chris Lynch told Mike Hosking there's a lot of anger in the community.
He says voting papers arrived last week and lots of people now don't know who to vote for.
“The mayor knew about the complaints in May. The whole situation has become very messy and it does make the council look incompetent.”
