The uncertainty continues for New Zealanders and our allies and interpreters in Afghanistan.
A first group of New Zealanders has been pulled out of the country by an Australian Air Force plane, and a second group is due to be evacuated soon.
But there is ongoing unrest at Kabul Airport, the only way in and out of the country.
New Zealand Al Jazeera journalist Charlotte Bellis told Mike Hosking the Taliban, US forces and Afghan security forces are all firing shots.
“Chaotic, dangerous, unpredictable. I’ve been going down there every few days and it makes me nervous to head down there myself.”
