A quad bike safety advocate says a solution is on the horizon.

Since 2007, 99 New Zealanders have died from quad bike accidents.

Coroner Brigitte Windley is calling for a dedicated taskforce to deal with bike safety after looking into two deaths on the same farm within five years.

Stuart Davidson owns Quadbar NZ, a tool mounted on the bike to prevent riders being crushed.

He says safety improvements are already underway.
