Filmmaker Bryan Fogel, who is best known for his documentary, Icarus, spoke with Mike Hosking about how it changed the climate of sport.
The documentary set out to find out how easy it would be to get away with doping in professional cycling and accidentally uncovered the Russian state-sponsored doping programme.
Fogel told Mike Hosking the documentary changed his life.
"In every single way, it is life changing. From long before we brought the story public but essentially from the understanding of what had happened [...] all the way through to speaking to you today, it has been a very life-changing road."
He says it has had a huge global impact and has made people more aware of doping.
"In watching Icarus it opens your eyes and certainly probably makes further scandals of this magnitude a little more difficult or I would hope a little more difficult to pull off.
