Canterbury Rugby League supports the call, saying dealing with regular alcohol related problems dissolved in last year's alcohol ban trial.
But Canterbury Rugby League Masters chairman, Bruce Milne, says players in there 40s to 60s shouldn't be penalised.
"We've been Masters for 19 years in Christchurch and we've had a problem. We've never had the police called, we've never had to break up a fight or anything like that ourselves."
