It appears the Silver Lake deal has got the tick of approval from the provincial unions; now it's up to the players.
It was a unanimous vote yesterday from the 26 unions to go forward with selling 12.5% of the commercial side for just under $390 million.
The players association are going back to stakeholders and then will come back to the negotiating table.
NZR chairman Brent Impey joined Mike Hosking this morning.
“Philosophically they’re opposed to the deal, but if we pay them enough money they’ll go with it.”
