Escalating strike action by court staff is causing additional stress on those in the justice system.

Strike action has meant some court hearings have been adjourned with as little as 30 minutes notice.

Family lawyer Sharon Chandra told Larry Williams it's not just striking staff suffering as a result of stalled paid negotiations.

"The real people who are suffering from this are the members of the public who are currently engaged in the Family Court process because they've been waiting months to get this court time only for it to be adjourned at short notice."
