This week’s ASB Good as Gold winner is 11 year old Maiya Smith from Hamilton.

Our nominator Dania Brodie writes "So this kid Maiya, she is the granddaughter of my friend of 30 years, Rena Dudman. Rena and her daughter Ruth, couldn't work any harder to support Ruth's incredibly talented kids, including 11 year old Maiya. Maiya is quite the little superstar!

After recently dancing her heart and feet out in recent trials for NZ dance royalty, Parris Goebel, the little pocket rocket is heading to the World Hip Hop champs in Las Vegas this August!

So here we go again helping out this amazing family with garage sales, hangis and other fundraising ideas. You should know, I will only donate to kids who I know are putting the hard work in and boy - this kid had done that!!! So here goes. ASB and Mike - can you help Maiya get to Las Vegas? The last time Rena fundraised for another granddaughter, I think I purchased about 8 hangi meals overtime and I don' t even like hangis!!! Save me!!!”

They would like to pay for her return flights to Las Vegas so she can represent her Nana, her mum, Hamilton and NZ on the world stage!
