The job market is continuing to recover from the impacts of Covid 19.

Stats NZ says more than 35,000 jobs disappeared in April, at the peak of the Covid 19 lockdown.

That includes almost 3000 fewer hospitality jobs, and 2000 fewer in arts and recreation.

But by the end of June, there were about about 15,000 jobs more jobs.

Andrew Kelleher from JMI Wealth told Mike Hosking it's difficult to get concrete conclusions from the numbers.

"If you look through the numbers, younger people are being hit the hardest. The whole story won't be evident until later on this year."
