The All Whites have been forced to cancel their Wembley encounter against the English in November.
The All Whites were set to take on heavy weights Belgium this year alongside a full calendar of fixtures. Unfortunately for the All Whites their 2020 campaign has ended.
New Zealand Football CEO Andrew Pragnell told Mike Hosking that at the point they signed a deal to play England, Covid-19 potentially looked to be heading a different direction.
“Certainly with the second wave of Covid-19 in Europe that we are seeing now… very unrealistic,” said Pragnell.
He said health and safety for the players had to be looked at first before anything else.
Biggest factor he claimed was the travelling and quarantine restrictions.
Pragnell shifts their focus to next year’s Oceania fixtures for the World Cup qualifiers in March.
