One of New Zealand’s most scenic and accessible trail events gets underway in Rotorua with the Kiwi Walk and Run Series kicking off a 10 stop tour across the country. 

It comes as more Kiwis look to explore the outdoors, but many are still held back by concerns around safety or simply not knowing where to start.

One person helping lead the charge is Silver Ferns legend Irene van Dyk, who is an ambassador for the series and will be taking part in multiple events this year.

She joined Matt and Tyler to talk about her passion for trail running and why this series could be the perfect entry point for so many people.
