Wellington-based start-up OpenStar is looking to make changes in the world of clean energy, and they've gotten financial support from the Government.

They’ve successfully levitated a half tonne superconducting magnet, confining a cloud of ultra-hot plasma - which will help ultimately produce carbon-free energy.

OpenStar Technologies CEO Dr Ratu Mataira joined the Afternoons team to explain further.
