The honesty box - a small stall where Kiwi farmers can sell their produce - has been a road trip tradition, but there's been an uptick in thieves.

Farmers and residents have voiced outrage as thieves have been taking money and products away from the stalls, and people are fed up.

My Honesty Box creator David Clark says his company has tried to update the concept with QR codes and digital payments, but the experience is still a mixed bag.
