Drones have been causing problems for residents as they become more popular

A drone expert thinks weak enforcement rather than a weak law is to blame for rogue drones.

Auckland resident Tina Hart says her $4500 sculpture was stolen a day after she saw a drone buzzing around her property.

Jonathan Kubiak, sales consultant at drone retailer Ferntech told Larry Williams the law makes it clear pilots can't fly over private property.

"In most problem cases with drones, the operators have been in the wrong, but there's no one there to enforce it."
