Calls for defensive driving courses for motorcyclists

There are renewed calls to do more for the safety of our drivers, especially those on motorbikes.

46 people have died in motorcycle crashes this year, including four from the last weekend alone.

Allan Kirk, CEO of the NZ motorcycle safety consultants, told Larry Williams that there should be funding for defensive driving courses for motorcyclists.

“There are skills you can use to survive motorcycle crashes. There is a way to crash.

Kirk says that New Zealand’s roads are not safe for motorcyclists.
