
Police Minister Mark Mitchell says he expects Canterbury Police to respond to the views of communities in its consultation over a proposed restructure.
In a "departure from normal process", Police bosses have agreed to take public feedback on their plans.
Mitchell says many people have raised concerns, and the lack of information has lead to confusion.
Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill says no final decisions have been made.
He says some parts of the proposal may need to be re-looked at, based on the feedback they receive, but it's too early to come to any conclusions.
