As the country fights Covid-19, the National Party is fighting with itself.
National MP Todd Muller has confirmed to the National Party leadership that he will challenge for leader of the party on Friday.
Muller informed National Leader Simon Bridges and party president Peter Goodfellow this afternoon, releasing a letter saying that the party needs to win the election in September.
A leadership vote is set for an emergency caucus meeting on Friday, which Bridges has called after learning about the planned coup.
But which MP will win the leadership bout? Shane Te Pou and Jack Tame joined Andrew Dickens on The Huddle to discuss his leadership hopes.
