As the country prepares for lockdown, some people are still uncertain about what counts as an essential business.
The Government had to clarify that The Warehouse will have to close all stores tonight when the country enters Covid alert level 4.
But you will be able to visit your local dairy – which can stay open with strict customer limits.
MBIE deputy chief executive Paul Stocks says leaving the Warehouse open creates too high a risk of further spreading the virus.
The public also won’t be allowed to shop at the likes of Bunnings and Placemakers – but they can stay open for essential trade customers.
Liquor shops within licensing trusts areas can open – because supermarkets in those areas don't sell wine or beer - but will have to close everywhere else.
Jack Tame and Trish Sherson joined Heather du Plessis-Allan to discuss how the essential business announcement was handled.Â
