A warning from former Prime Minister John Key to prepare for a very significant contraction in the New Zealand and global economy isn't lost on Jacinda Ardern.

The Prime Minister says the Government's response to Covid can't be separated from the predicted economic storm.

Ardern says if we don't successfully manage Covid well on an ongoing basis - it'll have a huge economic impact.

She says it's not enough to treat Covid and the economy as though they're not linked, because they are.

Meanwhile, an Auckland restaurant is being dished up a taste of its own medicine.

Coco's Cantina is considering a name change, following backlash after it accused fellow restaurateurs of appropriating the Māori word for king in the name of a new Britomart restaurant.

It's now facing several accusations that its use of cantina is offensively appropriating Latin culture.

Coco's owner says it's having conversations about changing its own name.
