Christchurch has had two new Covid cases.

But the debate on whether the Covid anxiety in Christchurch is worse in Auckland has become more of a competition on social media.

Meanwhile, some Auckland schools have decided to make final year exams optional for students.

All Auckland, Northland and Waikato students are eligible for an unexpected event grade - an average grade based on work throughout the year.

As the vaccine mandates take hold around the country, 1300 health workers nationwide have lost their jobs over their refusal to take the vaccine.

Waikato DHB is the worst affected, with 154 health workers who lost their jobs based there.
