Scepticism our Covid testing system can hold up to Omicron surges.
The Government says it's increased PCR testing capacity by nearly 20-thousand a day.
The daily maximum is now 58-thousand – which can surge to 77,600 tests for up to a week.
Medical Laboratory Science Institute president, Terry Taylor, told Heather du Plessis-Allan he isn't convinced they can handle that.
“The reality here is there’s still the same staff that are going to be doing the work, and we only have a limited pool of staff, we can’t just click our fingers and suddenly bring 200 medical laboratory scientists in to do this work.”
