Laboratories are working around the clock to keep up with the sheer onslaught of Covid tests.
There's huge demand for PCR tests – with long queues at stations meaning some wait up to eight hours.
About 30 thousand tests are being done daily, just half of what the Government said labs could handle.
Medical Laboratory Science Institute President, Terry Taylor, told Heather du Plessis Allan demand is far outstripping resources.
“All I can tell people is just have patience, we will come through the other side of it, the people who really need it will get the care that they need, and that’s really where our priorities need to be at the moment.”
