Greymouth's mayor is calling out KiwiBank over it's new policy of refusing to do business with the fossil industry.

Tania Gibson is in the process of closing her account and says there are plenty of other grumpy West Coasters doing the same.

She told Heather du Plessis Allan it hurts the West Coast which supplies high grade coal .

"It's hypocritical as Kiwibank, and others promoting such policies, still fund petrol stations and dairy companies, and take their kids to hospitals and schools run on coal.

"It’s just glossy bullshit. Your computers you work on everyday, the high rises which are made out of steel, the roads and the concrete, wind turbines, electric cars are all made out of steel which comes from coal. It’s time to get real."
