The big sick has begun. 

Air New Zealand has had to cancel a flight between Wellington and Blenheim tomorrow because stand-down periods for close contacts mean they haven't got enough staff.  

Air NZ hasn't confirmed how many flights have been affected nationwide, but Auckland Airport shows 10 regional departures have been cancelled while Wellington Airport is showing four departures cancelled.  

To avoid this, Sounds Air has taken the proactive step of slimming down its schedule altogether.
