There's drama at the Opera.
New Zealand Opera board directors Witi Ihimaera, Murray Shaw and Rachael Walkinton have quit.
The resignations come after the organisation announced its newest production would be based on the so-called unruly tourists who garnered fame here in 2019.
Renowned New Zealand tenor, Simon O'Neill, told Heather Du Plessis-Allan the current direction the Opera's taking is the reason for their departure.
He says there are many things about the artistic direction people are unhappy about.
