Auckland Mayor Phil Goff joins Heather du Plessis-Allan to talk about Auckland Transport's latest changes to their fees.
Children could be travelling around Auckland City for free on weekends.
Goff along with two councillors, Chris Darby and Richard Hills, have announced a proposal for children under the age of 15 to be able to use public transport for free on weekends and public holidays.
This has to be singed off by the council this month.
Goff says the changes are designed to encourage families to use public transport and utilise their capacity.
"That means that we're suing un-utilised capacity and we're also encouraging kids to get use to the notion of public transport"
