A Manawatu construction company is expanding its sick leave to include mental health.
Managing Director at Humphries Construction Paul Humphries wants his staff to book in mental health days to avoid stress and burnout.
Humphries says that these will differ from the traditional sick day, but are giving additional days off alongside the original day.
“We realise that people get fatigue, there’s mental health, they’ve got issues in their private life, and ultimately I suppose we want them to be in our workplace and ask the ultimate performance from them.”
