Australia has been thrown into vaccine chaos.

Australia has secured an additional 20 million Pfizer coronavirus vaccines, after the government backed health advice to avoid people under 50 receiving the AstraZeneca jab because of extremely rare blood clots.

But Australian correspondent Olly Peterson told Heather Du Plessis-Allan these additional doses aren't expected to arrive until the end of the year.

He says the original target to have all Australians vaccinated by October, will be thrown out the window.

Vaccine expert Graham Le Gros is slamming Australia's decision to stop under 50s from getting the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

The decision comes after one case of blood clotting.

Le Gros told Heathe du Plessis-Allan we need to stay calm and be realistic.

He says it's a massive overreaction and we need to realise there is an element of risk with everything we do in life,  including stepping out our front door.
