More technology is likely to lead to more jobs, rather than job losses.

That's the finding of a Productivity Commission report released today.

Despite fears technology could cause widespread disruption in the workforce, the report's found little evidence of this.

Inquiry director Judy Kavanagh says technology has many effects on jobs and work, but most of these are positive.

She says the adoption of technology also supports higher productivity and income growth.

Report author Nik Green told Heather du Plessis-Allan a lot of people have led to believe robots and artificial intelligence will steal their jobs.

"The main message we won't to say to workers is: don't panic. This isn't the great disruption you've been led to believe is going to occur."
