National's taking aim at what could be attempts by the Government to bury bad news.

Today's headline news has been the Government putting the brakes on appointing a Chief Technology Officer, but compensating Derek Handley with $100,000, because he'd already been offered the job.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's pulled out of appearances on Newshub Nation and TVNZ's Q+A this weekend - which she claims is a scheduling error.

National's Nick Smith told Larry Williams the end-of-week bad news dump is becoming a trend.

"It's another disaster, it's another Friday. This is the fourth Friday in a row which we have had bad news from the Government."
