The Privacy Commission has given landlords new guidelines about what they can and can't ask about their tenants.  

Landlords can't collect information on future tenant's employment status, if they're on a benefit or ACC, or what their financial history is like.  

You also can't ask them their age, only if they're above 18 or not.
