A rural property in Western Australia is crawling with detectives, after four children and three adults were found dead.

Police won't confirm whether it was a murder-suicide, or who it was that called and alerted them to the horrific tragedy.

Channel 9 News correspondent Nathan Brooks told Larry Williams t's believed at least some of the victims are family members.

He says there's a very heavy police presence, with forensic officers, homicide detectives, pathologists and other specialist units, trying to find out exactly what went on.

Police say two guns were found at the scene, and they've confirmed the bodies of two adults were found outside the house with gunshot wounds.
